Bicyclist seriously injured in Ponte Vedra Beach accident
A Ponte Vedra Beach bicycle accident has left a 56-year-old Jacksonville bicyclist in critical condition.
The bicycle accident occurred early this morning on Dolphin Boulevard at S.R. A1A. The truck driver was stopped at the intersection of these two roads, but he decided to turn just as the cyclist was riding through the intersection. The 43-year-old Ponte Vedra man cut across the road, clipping the rear tire of the bicycle.
As a result of the contact, the bicyclist was thrown from his bike, landing on his head. He sustained serious head injuries and was transported by a helicopter to be treated. He remains in critical condition.
