Bicyclist struck by a car.
A 37-year-old man was injured after he was involved in a bicycle accident when he was struck by a car while riding on Gulf Coast Highway.
The accident occurred at 7:33 a.m. in Escambia County when the bicyclist was traveling westbound just outside of the roadway. When he approached the intersection at Glades Lane, he was struck by a 21-year-old driver just as the light turned green.
This caused the man to fall from the bike and hit the ground. The driver claimed that she did not see the cyclist because of the glare in that direction. The woman was charged for violating the right of way.
