10 die in one day
Ten people and an unborn child lost their lives in several car accidents throughout South Florida in the span of one day. The accidents happened between Saturday, March 17, and Sunday, March 18.
The car accident that had the most fatalities occurred on the Gratigny Expressway and was caused by a head-on collision. Four people died as a result of the crash. In other parts of South Florida, a 26-year-old pregnant woman was killed in a freak accident while vacationing at a cabana in Fort Lauderdale. A woman lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the poolside cabana, killing the expecting mother and her unborn child.
A 5-year-old girl was struck and killed by a motor vehicle while she was playing in front of her house in a toy car in Broward. A teenager riding a skateboard also passed away as a result of a car accident. A church accident left one dead, and around 1 a.m. on Sunday morning two people on the Florida Turnpike were killed as they were struck by a speeding vehicle while trying to change a tire on the side of the road.
During this extremely difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and friends.
