A bicycle hit incident
On Oct 28, Margaret A. Ball, 41, of Paola, drove her 2009 Saturn Vue on Hospital Drive and hit a boy on his bicycle while making a turn.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Baptiste and Hospital Drives. Ball was making a turn from Hospital onto Baptiste. She stated that she came to a full stop, looked for oncoming traffic, but didn’t see the 13 year old on the bicycle. As she made the turn, the boy was struck and his lower right leg was pinned under the rear of the driver’s side tire.
The boy was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Ball was given a citation for failing to stop for a pedestrian.
