Potential airbag defect reported in Hyundai Elantra
The owner of a 2012 Hyundai Elantra filed a complaint in regards to the airbag deployment for that car model. The complaint was filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at the beginning of the month.
The man claims that when his driver’s side airbag deployed during an accident, a piece of sharp metal detached from the headboard area of the driver’s side seat. Unfortunately, the man’s ear was cut in half.
Safety officials have started the initial steps for an official investigation into the claim. If the allegations regarding the claim are true, approximately 123,000 vehicles could be affected in the United States.
