A 22-year-old firefighter and paramedic was killed last Thursday after his motorcycle struck the back wheel of a tractor on Highway 89.
The first responder was heading home after one of his EMS shifts, and was northbound on Highway 89. He was behind a tractor, being driven by a 45-year-old man, when the accident took place. The tractor, which was hauling a mower, was swaying in between the north lane, and the paved side road.
After the motorcycle accident occurred, the young motorcyclist was taken by helicopter to be treated for his life-threatening injuries. Shortly after arriving at the hospital he was pronounced dead. An investigation into the accident is underway, and charges against the tractor driver are pending at this time.
